| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - Easily the best so far. At this time, I am in the process of converting from film camera to digital and this is the fourth in a series of tutorial DVDs on the basics of the Nikon D300 camera I have studied so far. I have also attended two one-day courses run by Nikon UK in London. It says much for this product, therefore, that I learned some very important basic facts right at the beginning of this DVD of which I was previously unaware.
The prospective buyer might wish to consider certain facts. Firstly, no DVD tutorial is going to explain every single aspect of this camera. Secondly, if you are already expert in the use of another digital camera and are simply upgrading to the D300, you will probably learn very little from this product. If, however, you are new to digital cameras and the D300 is your first such camera then this is an excellent DVD to get you started on the path of understanding. Finally, if you are absolutely brand new to photography and the D300 is your very first camera you will need to understand the direct correlation between aperture settings, ISO speed and shutter speed before you start.
Whatever your requirements, I have no hesitation in giving this product the thumbs up. The style and speed of presentation are first class. Yes, there are elements I would like to have seen covered in more detail but, as I say, one cannot expect every single "finer point" to be discussed at length.
My own additional advice would be to have a notebook handy for those all-important notes. Then go out and put what you have learned into practise before watching the entire DVD again. After that, everything really does seem to fall into place.
NB: There have also been comments about whether or not these DVDs will work in different systems. All the tutorial DVDs I am currently studying (14 altogether) were purchased in the USA and work perfectly well here in the UK.
